Statement on 19/7/21 Working practices after relaxation of Covid-19 Rules
Whilst legal restrictions around covid-19 have been relaxed Central Surgery needs to prioritize keeping people safe, especially those with pre-existing conditions which may make them more vulnerable to serious illness and minimising the risk of a large scale outbreak causing the surgery to close for any length of time. Many local businesses have been hit by closures over the last few weeks.
For this reason there will be no significant change to the way we are working from the 19th July. We will continue to ask all attendances at the surgery to continue to wear a face covering if able and attend alone or with a single carer when required.
We will continue to see patients in the surgery based on clinical need and safety rather than patient preference. Please only come to the surgery if you have an appointment.
We thank you for your understanding.
Ask My GP
Each workday morning we will open askmyGP at 8am to allow you to contact the surgery without needing to use the phones or wait in the queue, requests taken in this way will have equal access to appointments and allows the GP to message you back directly. When the days capacity is met askmyGP will be turned off and the phones will be used for same day/urgent issues only. If askmyGP is off please try again on a different day for non urgent issues.
If the GP sends you an online reply, you will receive notification of the reply by email. However the GP may phone you so please ensure that your contact number is correct. Including more detail in your message helps the GP to help you more effectively. If you can only take a phone call at certain times please also include this information. Please do you askmyGP rather than phone if you are able for non urgent issues as this keeps the phone lines clearer for those who are unable to contact us in other ways. See full statement on the 'update to appointment system' tab for more details
