Good health starts at home with the food we eat and the lifestyle we lead. Here you can find out more about how to take good care of your health.
Caring for yourself at home
From a grazed knee to a cough or a hangover, lots of illnesses and symptoms can be treated at home with a well-stocked first aid kit.
It’s good to have things like paracetamol or ibuprofen, rehydration sachets for diarrhoea, antacids, plasters, bandages and thermometer in your first aid kit. For more information, visit the NHS website.
A plant-based diet can benefit your health
At Central Surgery we recognise the excellent potential health benefits to be gained from following a whole food plant-based diet.
The benefits can include reduced risk of conditions like diabetes and heart disease, reduced risk for some types of cancer and help with weight control. Find out more on our plant-based diet page.
Medications while you’re unwell
When you are unwell, some medications that normally help keep you well need to be stopped temporarily as they can put you at higher risk of becoming more seriously unwell. Find out more about on our ‘sick day rules’ page.
